Foster Facts

"Children and adolescents in foster care have a higher prevalence of physical, behavioral, dental, and developmental health problems than any other group of children."

NWAFFC... is a non-profit organization that was developed to help improve the quality of life for foster youth in our community. We are not an agency which places foster youth in homes. Our sole purpose is to offer our services to help give each child's life hope, dreams and most of all a future!

In June of 2004, Owen Bunstine Sr. founded the NW Alliance For Foster Children, Inc. as a direct result of his personal experiences growing up in the foster care system. Seeing first hand how it felt to be deemed an outsider in society growing up as a foster child, Owen finds it very distressing to see how so many children in foster care are still labeled an outcast in our culture.

The goal of the NWAFFC is to enhance the lives of those living in foster care with-in our community. We will make every effort to provide foster children in need the fundamental things in life to help them feel better about their existence and fitting in with society.

Our Mission

The sole mission of the NW Alliance For Foster Children is to enhance the lives of children and youth in foster care throughout Pierce County, WA. With help from our network of donations and corporate sponsors we will enhance and enrich the lives of foster children through the programs we offer. We believe in the fundamental right that every child in foster care should have the opportunity to have a happy and healthy childhood.
